Thursday, November 11, has been marked as a significant epoch. The passing moment to another life, for the Father of Palestine; Allahyarham Yasser Arafat(1929-2004). He expired in the French Military hospital on Thursday morning, french time.
It has been an emotional event; for the Arab world, for the nation of Palestine, for the especial Muslim world and so do I, am deeply grief over this eminent figure.
Not so much of all those conspiracy theories which had unwittingly been circulated around him. Though my conscience suspect a pretext. But the fact that he had unselfishly dedicated his entire life to regain back an independent Palestine state. He had went through the worse of experience, fighting hard for his undermine nation; not to mention being imprisoned in his bad conditioned office in Ramallah, West Bank, by the Israelis, during the last few years of his life. But then again, that was just a vignette of an undermine euphemism.
There is no telling what, they(the nation) and he had been through. Especially, coming from a person who had lived in a peaceful country all her life.
It struck me a chord, while watching the Palestine nation, grieving for their People Leader, the counter-reaction upon which they embraced with so strong a sentiment; that it seems pretty daunting, to see numerous number of people swarming over to pay their last respect, to this dear man, who stood up for them.
By the portraiture of it all, he would be greatly missed by most nation, in the world.
The Man who felt and done so much for Palestine. With all due respect.

It is terrible and sad that some people can be so closed minded. It shouldn't matter what he did or didn't do in his life. Arafat was very important to many people around the world and had an influence on many different countries. There is so much propaganda comming from the American government that I no longer know what to believe, and I do not take anything I hear at face value because everyone has an agenda especially the American government. It's like your parents say, "If your friend told you to jump off a bridge, would you jump too?" Of course not. It would be stupid to do something just because someone told you to do it. The same goes for the government. One shouldn't believe everything one hears.
All deaths are an end, but they are also a beginning. Arafat is upon his judgement and will have to answer for his sins. How we feel about him and what we have been told about him is no longer important. It is not our place to judge.
This passing can be viewed with either hope or fear. We can fear what may come to pass, or we can hope a pray that Arafat's passing may lead to a time of peace for the entire world.
Our world will never change until we make an effort to change it. We all have a voice. Make your voice heard. If you want peace, shout for the whole world to hear.
In this sad and turbulent time, we can only hope that this loss for our world can be met with a time of peace and understanding.

To r8kus: Had no intention of sounding like an obituary column(hehe!), and the fact that I do care for someone, who stood by his nation for 4 decades speaks volumes for himself. Cult, would be a too strong a euphemism to use.
But there surely has to be a reason for an action, doesnt that alone seems compelling enough. I leave it to your thoughts. :)
